364 Days In Jail For Paterson Hit-Run Driver Who Severely Injured Female Pedestrian
A 28-year-old Paterson man was sentenced to a plea-bargained 364 days in prison for fleeing a crash that seriously injured a city woman. Joshua Dumeng, 28, doesn’t have to begin serving his sentence at the Passaic County Jail until May 7, under a deal with Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia Valdes’s office. He’ll be on probation for five years after his release and will have his driver’s license suspended for two years under the terms of the deal. Man, 25, Sentenced For Lake Hopatcong Boating Accident That Killed Friend
A 25-year-old Morris County man was sentenced to nearly a year in jail for a drunken boating accident that killed his friend in 2019, authorities said. Nicholas Zarantonello was sentenced to three years probation conditioned on 364 days in Morris County Jail and 200 hours of community service, Acting Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll said. A man who continued to stalk the same Bergen County woman despite repeated arrests took a plea deal and walked away with probation. Superior Court Judge Keith Bachmann also repeated previous orders that Timothy Conti, 44, not have any contact with the victim, who was forced to move from her Rutherford apartment. A New Jersey homeowner was able to detain a burglar later identified as a 19-year-old Monmouth University varsity baseball player in an overnight break-in, police said. Surveillance tapes show Marlboro's Anthony Brienza entering the Old Farm Road home in Ocean Township through an unlocked door, then disabling the home security system around 4:50 a.m., Sept. 13, Detective Sgt. A former neo-Nazi leader and Holocaust denier who ignited virtual firestorms when he lived in Ridgewood was sentenced to a plea-bargained five years in prison for torching a service station in New York State. Mahwah police spoiled the 4th of July party for two out-of-towners – one a parolee, the other a probationer – after catching them with an assortment of fireworks during a traffic stop, authorities said.
