Woman, 84, Extricated After Car Ends Up On Top Of Another Vehicle In Fair Lawn
An 84-year-old woman was extricated after sending her car into the outside of a CVS in Fair Lawn, then landing on top of another vehicle on Friday afternoon, June 12. The woman was attempting to turn and park in the handicap spot when she went over the sidewalk into the exterior of the CVS on River Road, police at the scene tell Daily Voice. She ended up on top of an Acura sedan, authorities said. The woman was freed with help from firefighters and evaluated by Fair Lawn paramedics on scene. She did not appear to be injured, authorities said.

A 78-year-old Wyckoff man remains hospitalized after police say he was pulled from a backyard pool on Monday evening, July 28. Officers were called to the home around 6 p.m. on July 28, according to Wyckoff Police Lt. Joseph Soto. A 21-year-old man from Maywood has died after crashing his electric dirt bike in Edgewater, police said. Johnathan Torres died from his injuries on Tuesday, July 15, following a crash that occurred around 3:37 a.m. on Sunday, July 13, according to a press release from Edgewater Police Chief Donald Martin. Thirteen people were hurt in a crash on the NJ Turnpike involving a bus carrying military personnel, 6abc reports. The passenger bus had broke down was heading north and was in the right lane and right shoulder when it was struck by a tractor trailer just before 1 p.m. at milepost 25.6 in Runnemede, New Jersey State Police Sgt. Three swimmers were rescued while in the water after sunset in Ocean Grove, officials said. Rescuers were called to a swimmer in distress near the pier at the Main Avenue beach at around 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 28, the ANSWER team said in a Facebook post.
