Lauren Krissi, a Wayne native was out walking her dog on Thursday, May 30, when she collapsed while walking her dog. Krissi was found unresponsive and rushed to Overlook Medical Center where she has remained with little responsiveness. Krissi is awaiting the next steps on her road to rehabilitation. License Permanently Stripped From NJ Doc Who Let 20-Year-Old ER Patient Die
UPDATE: An ER doctor had her medical license permanently revoked by the state of New Jersey for allowing a 20-year-old patient to die on her watch and then trying to cover it up, authorities said. Shar Kennett, 66, of Wayne was on duty in the emergency room at Overlook Medical Center in Summit when the patient was brought in with urgent "respiratory distress" on June 29, 2017, Attorney General Matthew J. Some of the best hospitals in the world are right in the Garden State. Newsweek, partnering with Statsia, released its annual list of the World's Best Hospitals, with six hospitals in New Jersey making the cut. A days-long argument ended in a shooting this weekend in one Union County town, authorities said. Jaime Tapia-Lobos, 33, of Irvington, had been arguing with his 35-year-old Vauxhall victim before the incident Saturday morning, June 24 in Summit, local police said. Burn Victim Transferred In Overlook Medical Center Fire
A seventh-story electrical fire at Overlook Medical Center sent one person to a different hospital for treatment Tuesday, June 14. The blaze was put out before crews arrived around 8 p.m., sending a burn victim to Cooperman Barnabus Medical Center, Summit police tell Daily Voice. No further information was immediately available. Summit Police Department and Summit Volunteer First Aid Squad responded to the scene. The Summit Fire Department was assisted at the scene by Millburn, Springfield, and Union fire departments.

Speed Bump Kills North Jersey Sanitation Worker Riding On Truck, Police Say
A 74-year-old sanitation worker died after the truck he was riding on hit a speed bump and he fell off earlier this month in Scotch Plains, police announced. Ismael Oliva was riding on the rear platform of the truck when he fell off and hit is head on the 300 block of Henry Street around 9:30 a.m. Sept. 2, local police said. Good Samaritans had rushed outside to help the Plainfield sanitation worker when paramedics arrive. Oliva was rushed to Overlook Medical Center in Summit, where he was pronounced dead, police said. The crash remains under investigation.

The Paramus Police Department is mourning the loss of officer Allan Alvarez. Alvarez, 42, died unexpectedly on Sunday due to complications of a medical procedure at Overlook Medical Center in Summit, his obituary says. A Plainfield native, Alvarez grew up in Piscataway and was a Rahway resident at the time of his passing.
