New Milford PD: Wanted NYC Driver With No License, Registration Or Plates Assaults Officer, EMT
A driver wanted on outstanding warrants was jailed after he brawled with New Milford police, kicked an EMT and spit in an officer’s face, authorities said.
Thomas Overton, 19, of the Bronx had no license, registration – or even license plates -- when Officer Daniel O’Neill stopped him in a BMW on New Milford Avenue near Main Street shortly before 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Capt. Kevin Van Saders said.
Overton immediately “became confrontational with the officer and would not provide the requested paperwork,” the captain said.

Ex-Con Caught With Loaded Gun After Girlfriend Maces Him, Elmwood Park Police Say
An Elmwood Park woman Maced her ex-con boyfriend, dialed 911, then refused to cooperate after responding officers found him carrying a gun, authorities said.
The Elmwood Terrace Apartments tenant summoned police shortly after 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 3, Police Chief Michael Foligno said.
Responding officers stopped convicted felon Demetrius Balmer Jr., 24, as he left her apartment, Foligno said.
"You're not searching me," Balmer told them.
Then he ran, the chief said.

One of three men who were found nodded out in a car stopped in the middle of a Fair Lawn street had a loaded handgun on his lap, authorities said.
Officers responding to the overnight call on Broadway at Fair Lawn Parkway arrested William Barba, 31, of Newark, along with the driver, Richard Scott, 30, of Ridgefield Park, and passenger Devin McConnell, 31, of Clifton, Sgt. Brian Metzler said.
Scott was released to a responsible adult after being charged with DWI, refusing to submit to a breath test and obstruction following the 3:30 a.m. incident on March 6, Metzler said.
