Forbes: Retailer That Bought Vacant Bergenfield Acme Has Stellar Rep, Horrific Biz Plan A German global discount supermarket chain that purchased a long-vacant ACME in North Jersey has a stellar reputation with a business plan that's anything but, according to a recent report. Lidl -- which closed a deal on Bergenfield's former ACME market earlier this week -- had plans to open nearly 100 stores between Summer 2017 and Summer 2018. As of July of this year, the retailer had opened barely half of that, Forbes reports. Hackensack Architects Authorized For $12M Bergenfield Borough Hall Overhaul A $12 million renovation to Bergenfield's 93-year-old Borough Hall is set to begin in September, according to a new report by NorthJersey.com. Hackensack's RSC Architects has been authorized by the council to come up with a basic design for the North Washington Ave. facility this week detailing a complete renovation, the report says. RSC Architects has worked several municipal projects in the area including Ridgewood's Village Hall, Cliffside Park's DPW Annex, Demarest DPW and most notably Two Bergen County Plaza -- and many more.
