Angel Garcia-Rodriguez, 26, of Lakewood, was behind the wheel of a 2007 Honda Civic when he lost control and struck a utility pole on James Street around 2:25 a.m. Saturday, July 22, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Oliver Vazquez has been identified as the victim of the crash on Madison Avenue just south of 9th Street on Saturday, April 2 just before 9 p.m. A GoFundMe was launched in an effort to help bring his body to Mexico, his home country. Lakewood Mother Admits Leaving Her Baby In Hot Car For 2 Hours, Ocean County Prosecutor Says A 27-year-old mother from the Jersey Shore has admitted that she inadvertently left her 21-month-old child in a hot car, authorities said The child died about two-and-a-half hours later, according to the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office. Chaya Shurkin of Lakewood pleaded guilty Friday to endangering the welfare of a child in May 2019, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer.
