: Riders Evacuated From Comet At Hersheypark After Off-Ride Disturbance
Guests riding Hersheypark’s oldest roller coaster, the Comet, were unexpectedly evacuated mid-ride on Sunday due to a "guest disturbance on the platform", officials confirmed on Tuesday, Sept. 9. Video footage shared online shows riders calmly exiting the coaster cars and walking down a set of stairs beside the iconic wooden track after the coaster came to a halt. NYC Tour Helicopter Makes Emergency Landing Along Palisades, Police Say
A tour helicopter carrying the pilot and six passengers made a safe emergency landing in the parking lot of the Englewood Marina after experiencing mechanical failure mid-flight on Tuesday, Dec. 17, police said. The Bell 407GX helicopter, owned by HeliNY.com, was giving passengers a tour of New York City when it experienced a mechanical issue, according to Lieutenant Raymond E. Kingda Ka Rollercoaster Closes After Malfunction At Six Flags Great Adventure
Kingda Ka, the world’s tallest roller coaster located at Six Flags Great Adventure, is closed after a malfunction (scroll for video of the ride). It's the second coaster ride closed after El Toro closed in August, also due to a malfunction. El Torro is set to reopen on Saturday, June 17.
