A Manchester Township man admitted to a series of antisemitic attacks in Ocean County that hospitalized three people, including an Orthodox Jewish man who was stabbed, authorities said. An armed man was shot and killed by police Tuesday night in Manchester Township, authorities confirmed. The officers had responded to a 911 call on Elizabeth Avenue in the Ocean County township shortly before 8:30 p.m. Nov. 6, New Jersey Attorney General Matthew Platkin said. The estate of a 24-year-old man who was killed in a crash on the Garden State Parkway has reportedly settled a lawsuit against his former employer for $2.15 million. Brandon Lawson, of Manchester Township, was driving a dump truck owned by Farmingdale-based Galderese Trucking when its brakes failed on the southbound Parkway in Egg Harbor Township in the middle of the afternoon on Jan. 6, 2021, authorities said. Lightning Strike Fire Engulfs Jersey Shore Home
UPDATE: A lightning strike Wednesday ignited a fire that destroyed a Jersey Shore home and killed several pets. Two cats, a bird and several reptiles died in the Beckerville Road fire, which broke out in the 1½-story ranch house shortly before 3 p.m., Manchester Township police said. Responders included firefighters from Whiting, Manchester, Ridgeway, Forked River, Lakehurst, Cassville and Whitesville, as well as Manchester Township EMS and police. No injuries were reported. The American Red Cross found temporary lodging and provided supplies to the family.
