Harrisburg Sex Offender Gets Life Behind Bars In Kyan King's Deadly Shooting
The registered sex offender accused of shooting 16-year-old Kyan King last August will spend the rest of his life behind bars pleaded guilty on Friday, officials said. Orlando P. Duarte shot and killed Kyan King, who was running naked near North 18th and Forster streets in Harrisburg, on Aug. 25, 2020. King later died at a local hospital. Duarte was a primary suspect as he was seen fleeing the area on foot, according to police. A 22-year-old Harrisburg home health care aide accused of stealing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's laptop during the Jan. 6 Capitol Hill riots surrendered to authorities and was arrested Monday in central Pennsylvania, according to the Department of Justice. Bergen County prosecutor’s detectives seized sizable amounts of cash from accused money-laundering drivers from Pennsylvania, including $115,411 that they said a Philadelphia man had stashed in a secret compartment, during traffic stops in Fort Lee. Four people got onto a fishing boat unharmed in a lake that their plane skidded into after going off the runway at Aeroflex-Andover Airport. Two adults and two children walked away from the unharmed, after the Cessna C172 they were on skid off Runway 3-21, into brush and onto Lake Aeroflex around 1 p.m. Friday, ABC7 reports. Garfield Pedestrian, 40, Struck Outside Saddle Brook Shopping Center
A 40-year-old pedestrian from Garfield was hospitalized with a leg and hip injury after she was struck Thursday morning while crossing Route 46 near a Saddle Brook shopping center, authorities said. The Harrisburg, PA driver had a green light as she turned right (westbound) out of Saddle Brook Center to go west on the highway when her vehicle hit the woman in the crosswalk around 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Police Chief Robert Kugler said.
