Hackensack Meridian Health on Friday will begin prohibiting visitors, with certain exceptions, at its hospitals and nursing and rehab facilities, HMH announced Thursday. Exceptions will be made on a case-by-case basis for pediatric patients at the Joseph M. Sanzari Children's Hospital in Hackensack and the K. Hovnanian Children's Hospital in Neptune City, as well as at the other hospitals, Hackensack Meridian Health said. Hackensack Meridian Health has created a test that health officials say could save patients days of waiting for test results and help control the spread of coronavirus. A major Emergency Medical Services company in Wall Township will begin shutting down after 42 years of operation on April 1. The shutdown of Monmouth Ocean Hospital Services Corp. (MONOC) affects 320 employees, according to this W.A.R.N. notice issued by the state Department of Labor. Hackensack Meridian Health has acquired Englewood Hospital and Medical Center as its 13th acute care hospital under a merger announced on Tuesday. New Jersey's largest health network and mental health facility officially joined forces Thursday finalizing plans for several new addiction centers -- including an inpatient treatment facility in Bergen County. The Fort Lee Board of Education is facing a lawsuit from a student's mom alleging her daughter was harassed by her high school chemistry teacher after correcting her lesson about sickle cell anemia, which she was diagnosed with.
