Terri Breen, of Essex Fells and later of West Orange, passed away on Oct. 14, 2024. She was 63 years old.
Born Mary Theresa Faleskie on Dec. 12, 1960, at Tripler Army Hospital in Honolulu, HI, Terri graduated from Hawaii Baptist Academy and earned her BA from Pennsylvania State University, State College.
After college, Terri moved to New York City, beginning her career in advertising at Doyle Dane Bernbach and later at Women’s Day Magazine. She left her career to focus on what she considered her most important job of all — raising her beloved sons, Conor and Liam. Devoted to their growth, …
Christine Grogan, Wyckoff Resident, Dies After Three-Year ALS Battle
Christine Grogan, a 60-year-old Wyckoff resident, died on Sunday, Dec. 31, three years after being diagnosed with ALS.
A special education teacher, Grogan worked as director of the Epic School in Paramus and for the Learners' Compass in Tenafly, according to her obituary. Grogan was devoted to helping people diagnosed with autism.
Grogan was married to Christopher Grogan, a Glen Ridge police officer. The Glen Ridge Police Benevolent Association has established a fundraiser to assist with funeral costs. As of Friday, Jan. 5, more than $10,000 has been raised.

North Jersey Dad Chris Lau Dies, 39
Chris Lau, a 39-year-old Glen Ridge resident, died unexpectedly on Friday, June 16, according to his obituary.
Lau was a graduate of Rutgers and worked in advertising sales, his obituary reads.
He is survived by his wife Danielle, his children, Joseph and Matthew and his parents, Craig and Cindy, according to his obituary.

'Parks And Rec' Star Helen Slayton-Hughes Of NJ Dies, 92
"Parks and Recreation" star and New Jersey native Helen Slayton-Hughes died on Wednesday, Dec. 7. She was 92.
Slayton-Hughes, who has ties to Glen Ridge, was known for her role as Ethel Beavers on the NBC show.
“To the friends and fans of our beloved Helen, Helen passed away last night,” her family announced on her Facebook page. “Her pain has ended but her fierce spirit lives on.”
Slayton-Hughes appeared in dozens of television shows and movies, including "New Girl" as Mrs. Raws, "Pretty Little Liars" as Mrs. Potter, "Malcom in the Middle" as Nana, and more.

Sedan With Suspected Bullet Holes Rolls During Clifton Police Pursuit Into Glen Ridge
A driver who was stopped by Clifton police with bullet holes in his windshield hit the gas and sped off -- nearly hitting two officers -- before crashing in Glen Ridge during the subsequent pursuit, authorities said.
Officers stopped the 2017 Mercedes E300 on Allwood Road near Clifton Avenue around 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20, Detective Lt. Robert Bracken said.
They were talking with the driver and passenger when the E300 peeled out, the lieutenant said.

Cancelled: Risky Halloween Activities Banned In These North Jersey Towns
While Gov. Phil Murphy gave trick-or-treating the green light this year, some towns are giving it the red light amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Halloween activities such as trick-or-treating, trunk-or-treating, parties, carnivals, or festivals with large crowds were banned in several towns.
The first to do so was Bound Brook. The borough's OEM coordinator on Oct. 7 put out a memo saying trick-or-treating, trunk-or-treating, hay rides, haunted houses, parties and large gatherings would not be permitted. Virtual activities, drive-thru events and family activities were allowed, though.
