The body of a 19-year-old Edgewater man was recovered from the base of the cliff near Rockefeller Lookout on the Palisades Interstate Parkway after police said he was reported missing by his family on Wednesday, Nov. 6. The Palisades Interstate Parkway Police were alerted around 5 p.m. by Edgewater police after a cell phone ping traced the young man’s location to the scenic lookout point in Englewood Cliffs, PIP Police Lt. Brush Fire Breaks Out In Bergen County Yard
Firefighters put out a brush fire that broke out in a Bergen County yard Monday, Nov. 4. The Allendale Volunteer FD said neighbors were helping to contain that blaze that broke out behind a home on Byron Court when they arrived. A two-alarm fire left a Fair Lawn family's home damaged and sent one firefighter to the hospital Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 23, authorities said. Cat Rescued From Burning Home In Wood-Ridge
Firefighters and police officers saved a cat from a burning home Wednesday evening, Oct. 9 in Bergen County. Responders made entry to the home at 198 Main Ave. in Wood-Ridge around 6 p.m., where they found the animal, sources tell Daily Voice Companies from Wood-Ridge, Lodi, Moonachie and Hasbrouck Heights responded. Firefighters were called to Ridgewood on Friday evening, Sept. 13 where a black Toyota Prius crashed through a chain link fence, over a retaining wall, and into the back of a restaurant, according to incident reporter Boyd A. Several horses were medically treated after the trailers they were being towed in were struck on the New Jersey Turnpike Tuesday, Sept. 10, firefighters said. Eight people were hospitalized in a series of Route 3 crashes — one of which involved emergency response vehicles — early Tuesday, Sept. 10 in East Rutherford, police said.
