: Four Vehicles Towed After Pileup Off Route 17 In Ramsey
Four vehicles all had to be towed after a chain-reaction crash Thursday off Route 17 in Ramsey. No serious injuries were reported in the incident at the intersection of East Crescent Avenue and Lake Street. Ramsey police, firefighters, EMS and Ramsey Rescue all responded. Crash Splits Hawthorne Utility Pole
A 22-year-old driver refused hospitalization for a neck injury after a sedan split a utility pole Monday afternoon in Hawthorne. A PSE&G unit was summoned to assess the damage to the pole, although there was no loss of power in the area after the crash in the 100 block of Lafayette Avenue. Ridgewood Firefighters Quickly Douse House Blaze
Ridgewood firefighters quickly extinguished a house fire Wednesday afternoon. Residents got out safely and no injuries were reported at the split-level, single-family home in the 400 block of Race Track Road. The fire apparently began on the first floor and spread upstairs, bringing village firefighters, police and EMS. The home sustained moderate fire, smoke and water damage. Boyd A. Car Rolls On Route 4 In Paramus
The occupants of a car that overturned Monday afternoon on westbound Route 4 in Paramus got themselves out, responders said. The Volkswagen rolled in front of 35 Plaza shopping center, which includes a Houlihan's, Starbucks and Roadrunner Sports, among other businesses. Paramus police, firefighters and EMS responded. Fair Lawn Exterior House Fire Doused
Fair Lawn firefighters quickly doused an exterior house fire Sunday afternoon. A garage at the Terhune Place home sustained minor injuries. Fair Lawn police, EMS and Heavy Rescue joined firefighters at the scene. The cause wasn't immediately determined.

Driver OK In Route 17 Ramsey Rollover
A New York State driver escaped with minor injuries Tuesday in a Route 17 rollover in Ramsey, responders said. The Jeep Renegade landed on it side on the northbound side of the highway in front of Bottle King around 12:30 p.m. Extrication wasn't necessary, Police Chief Bryan Gurney said. Police, firefighters, EMS and Ramsey Rescue responded. Upper Saddle River police assisted with traffic. The vehicle was towed. Another minor accident was reported nearby around the same time.

Three-Vehicle Route 208 Crash Sends Two To Hospital
At least two people were hospitalized after a sedan, a coupe and an SUV were involved in a collision on southbound Route 208 in Hawthorne Monday afternoon. The left and center lanes were blocked while the victims were tended to, the wreckage removed and the crash investigated just north of Lincoln Avenue. Hawthorne police were joined by local EMS and Glen Rock police, among other responders, at the 3:30 p.m. call. Woman, 71, Plunges To Death From Hackensack High Rise, Cause Investigated
Detectives were trying to determine whether a 71-year-old woman jumped or fell Friday afternoon from the 12th floor of a Hackensack high rise. A good Samaritan conducted CPR on the victim before responders arrived at the Excelsior II Luxury Apartments building on Prospect Avenue around 1 p.m., city Police Capt. Darrin DeWitt said. The victim was taken with severe head trauma to nearby Hackensack University Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, DeWitt said. Teaneck Man, 33, Kills Himself In Car
A suicidal man shot and killed himself in a car parked on a Teaneck street before dawn Monday, responders said. The 33-year-old man's estranged wife summoned police, who found him in his car near the corner of Bogert Street and Queen Anne Road near Votee Park around 3:30 a.m., they said. He pulled the trigger as officers approached, they said. Life-saving efforts continued before EMS arrived, during the ride to Hackensack University Medical Center, where he was eventually pronounced dead.

Ramsey Police Officer, Borough EMS Worker Revive Heart Attack Victim, 22, At Gym
A Ramsey police officer and EMS worker revived a 22-year-old who went into cardiac arrest at a local gym on Sunday. Marc Greenwood, a Ramsey Ambulance Corps member and Mahwah police dispatcher, was at Retro Fitness off Route 17 when the victim collapsed, Police Chief Bryan Gurney said. Greenwood, who used to work at the same gym, began CPR. Officer Bryan Stevens arrived soon after and brought the victim back to full consciousness with one shock from a defibrillator, the chief said. Ramsey EMS took him to the Valley Hospital in Ridgewood.

Driver OK After Car Crashes Into Pole In Paramus
A driver was OK after his car slammed into a pole in Paramus early Saturday evening. A PSE&G crew was summoned to replace the pole in the 700 block of Highland Avenue after the hatchback hit it shortly before 6 p.m. Paramus police and EMS responded. The driver was conscious and alert and talking on his cellphone as he was loaded into the ambulance. The car was towed. Highland Avenue was temporarily closed in both directions between Bush and Fern places.

Driver With Serious Head Injury Freed In Route 46 Rollover Crash In Clifton
The driver of an SUV that snapped a utility pole and rolled over Saturday morning on rain-slicked eastbound Route 46 in Clifton sustained a head injury, responders said. The patient, who had to be extricated before being hospitalized, was conscious following the crash with another vehicle just before 9 a.m. near the Route 3 split, they said. Clifton police, firefighters and EMS responded to the crash, which closed the highway well past 10 a.m. while an investigation was conducted.
