The woman who died alongside her 9-month-old son after their car was found in a Central Jersey pond had been mourning the loss of her own father, according to her posts on social media. Police, firefighters and EMS crews were called on a report of a drowning in Ocean County, authorities said. The discovery of a body in Barnegat Bay was reported at about 1:25 a.m. Tuesday near Anchor Drive and Barnegat Avenue in Seaside Park. No other details were immediately available. A father and daughter from New Jersey were either electrocuted or drowned in the heavy floodwaters of Tropical Storm Ida, reports say. James Mcgee, 66, and Shenique Mcgee, 46, died in the basement of their flooded home on Lincoln Place in Irvington on Sept. 1, NJ.com reports. It took emergency crews about two hours to access the family’s home due to the extent of the floodwaters, which had grown tall enough to engulf several surrounding vehicles, according to the report, citing wife and mother Joann Mcgee. Teen Boy Dead, 2 Others Hospitalized After Near-Drowning At NJ Beach
A 17-year-old boy died and two other victims his age were hospitalized after being pulled from the waters of a New Jersey beach Saturday, authorities say. Lifeguards ran into the waters of the Sandy Hook Unit of the Gateway National Recreation Area's Beach B to rescue the trio around 4:30 p.m., according to the National Parks Service. The boy was pronounced dead at the scene while the two other teens -- both 17, a boy and a girl -- were taken to Monmouth Medical Center in unknown condition.

Toms River Man Drowns In Bay
A 64-year-old Toms River man drowned in an area bay last week, authorities said. Wayne Brotsky was fighting to stay afloat in Mariner's Cove at the end of Kettle Creek before he went under and disappeared around 6:10 p.m. Aug. 19, local police said. Silverton Fire Chief Robert Sinnott was first on scene and jumped in the water. Three North Caldwell police officers revived a 5-year-old drowning victim last week. Sgt. Sue Depoe, Det. Sgt. John Lynch and Officer Matt Carleo arrived at the undisclosed address around 1:30 p.m. Aug. 16, where the boy had been pulled from the pool by a teen lifeguard, authorities said. Authorities were trying to identify the body of an apparently homeless man who drowned Saturday in the Passaic River. Witnesses said the man didn't know how to swim, ignored friends' insistence that he not go in, then went under in a deep pond on the Clifton side of the river, Clifton Deputy Fire Chief Craig Hopkins said. A 30-year-old man died after being found by coworkers at the bottom of a swimming pool on their employer's Jersey Shore property Friday, authorities said. Guilebaldo Ramos, 30, of Freehold, was swimming with his co-workers when they saw him at the bottom of the deep end of the Conover Road pool in Millstone around 6:45 p.m., New Jersey State Police Sgt. Pa. Firefighter Saved Son Before Drowning On Lake Erie Family Vacation, Family Says
A 38-year-old firefighter and U.S. Army veteran from Pennsylvania drowned on a family vacation over the weekend. Pittsburgh firefighter Lee Weber died in Lake Erie in Conneaut, Ohio on Saturday, July 24. Family members said Weber got caught in the tides and went under water, while getting his son to safety.
