A massive blast at a Tennessee explosives plant leveled a building, sent thick black smoke into the sky and left workers missing as rescuers waited out secondary blasts. The blast tore through Accurate Energetic Systems in Bucksnort in Hickman County just before 8 a.m. Friday, Oct. 10, officials said. Sheraton Shenanigans: Four Caught Creeping At NJ Hotel Set For Demolition, Cops Say
Four people were charged after they were caught trespassing inside the abandoned Sheraton Crossroads Hotel in Mahwah, police said. Officers were called to the property on Friday, April 4 at 10:35 p.m. after a security officer reported seeing a group of people inside the vacant building, according to the Mahwah Police Capt. Guido Bussinelli. The hotel is currently fenced off and being prepared for demolition, police said. It is under 24/7 surveillance, and “no trespassing” signs are posted throughout the grounds. The long-standing Sheraton Crossroads hotel in Mahwah is expected to come down in a dramatic, dust-controlled blast next month, officials said. Demolition Of Nabisco Site Resuming Year After Postponement
Almost a year after it was called of amid public outcry, plans to demolish the shuttered Nabisco factory in Fair Lawn have once again been finalized. "Demolition at the Nabisco site is expected to resume shortly, with state approval. A non-explosive demolition will be undertaken," said a post on the borough's website on Monday, April 22. Amid public outcry, the company behind plans to implode the shuttered Nabisco factory in Fair Lawn is reversing course. Body Found By Demolition Crew In Jersey City Home
A demolition crew found a body on the second floor of a Jersey City home under construction last week, officials confirmed. The man's body was found around 12:15 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 29, at the home under construction on 10 Irving St., city spokesperson Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione said. The house had been vacant since suffering heavy damage in a fire in August 2021.
