A Bergenfield man is facing multiple weapons charges after an early-morning struggle with police in Hackensack, authorities said.
On Tuesday, Aug. 12, Officer Wanda Rivera responded to Linden Street and Anderson Street for a report of a person who had punctured the tires of a vehicle during a dispute, Hackensack Police Chief Michael Antista said.

The US State Department has issued updated travel guidance for one of America’s closest neighbors, citing a mix of safety risks for visitors.
The advisory that went live on Tuesday, Aug. 12 applies to Mexico, where officials say travelers should “exercise increased caution” because of threats that include terrorism, crime, and kidnapping.
It is classified as Level 2 on the agency’s four-tier alert system, which ranges from Level 1 (“exercise normal precautions”) to Level 4 (“do not travel”).

Male, 19, Kidnapped, Sexually Assaulted By 63-Year-Old Man In Paterson: Prosecutor
A 63-year-old Paterson man has been arrested for allegedly kidnapping and sexually assaulting a 19-year-old man, authorities said.
Nahum Maldonado was taken into custody without incident around 7:30 p.m. on July 30, near East 15th Street and Lyon Street in Paterson, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes said in a release Thursday, Aug. 7.
The arrest followed a report made to the Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit on Aug. 20, around 5:10 p.m., Valdes said.

A former New Jersey music teacher and school administrator, incarcerated for sexually assaulting at least two students, has given up his teaching certifications with the force of a revocation, state officials confirmed.
Kurt E. Zimmermann, 56, a father of two from Rockaway, was ordered to relinquish his Teacher of Music certificate and Principal Certificate of Eligibility at a June 26 meeting of the New Jersey State Board of Examiners, according to the board’s formal order.

A 33-year-old man caused a scene at a Bergen County strip club, beat up a security guard, and stole his jewelry before being tackled and cuffed by police, authorities said.
