Worker Dies After Fall In Newark Elevator Shaft, Police Say A worker died Saturday morning, May 10 after falling into an elevator shaft at a Newark construction site, authorities said. Police responded to a call of an injured worker around 9:09 a.m., at 10 Commerce Court, Newark Public Safety Director Emanuel Miranda said. The man was found inside the site’s elevator shaft and pronounced dead at 9:54 a.m., Miranda said. The incident remains under investigation. No further information was immediately available.

Construction Worker Rushed To Hospital With Head Trauma In Bergen County Accident: Police A construction worker was hospitalized in Bergen County Tuesday morning, Jan. 14 in a worksite accident, police said. The worker, 56, was struck in the head by the bucket of an excavator while working at a construction site in the 1500 block of Valley Brook Avenue in Lyndhurst, Detective Lt. Vincent Auteri said. He was taken by the Lyndhurst Police Emergency Squad to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Paterson with severe injuries, Auteri said. Investigators from OSHA are on the scene investigating.
