SUV Spins Out, Hits Concrete Barrier In Sunday Morning Route 3 Crash: Police A child was injured in a crash early Sunday morning, Oct. 6 on Route 3 in Rutherford, police said. A Honda CRV occupied by a family of four, two adults and two children, spun out and struck the concrete barrier during the crash with a 2022 Mercedes Benz operated by a 33-year-old woman, Rutherford Police Lt. Craig Capoano said. The crash happened just before 8:30 a.m. in the local westbound lanes right at the Clifton border. The child suffered a minor injury and the parents told police they'd take their child to their own doctor or local hospital for medical care. The lane was briefly …

Child Hospitalized After Being Struck By Van Pulling Out Of Bergen County Driveway A child was hospitalized after being struck by a van while riding a scooter on a Bergen County street Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 21, police said. The 11-year-old was riding on Boiling Springs Road when they were struck by a 2013 Ford Ecoline E350 exiting a driveway around 4:45 p.m., Capt. Jeff Yannacone said. The child was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center with injuries to the calf and upper thigh.

6-Year-Old Child, Man Shot In Newark A man in his 20s and a 6-year-old child were hospitalized after being shot on Tuesday, Nov. 1 in Newark, authorities said. Police responding to a report of shots fired on the 300 block of South Orange Avenue found the victims, who were taken to University Hospital for treatment around 7 p.m., Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. The incident remains under investigation. No further information was available.

Police turned to the public Tuesday for help investigating the shooting, as well as another a few days later. They don't appear related, authorities said. The first occurred around 9:45 p.m. Aug. 12 on Hamilton Avenue. At least three rounds were shot into the front of a home occupied by a family, including a 1-year-old child, Police Lt.
