SUVs Collide, One Lands On Its Side -- A Telluride -- In Paramus
A pair of SUVs collided in Paramus on Friday the 13th, leaving one of them on its side. The driver of a Honda Pilot was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center with unspecified injuries after his vehicle broad-sided a KIA Telluride at the intersection of Paramus Road and Starling Court. The Telluride got knocked onto its passenger side and was righted by members of the Passaic Police Emergency Services Unit. An elongated tractor trailer took down a traffic control signal in a tight turn at a Paramus intersection Tuesday, Oct. 10. The truck driver was turning right from A&S Drive onto Winters Avenue, when a car coming toward him forced him to quickly steer more to the right, around 1 p.m., sources tell Daily Voice. Passaic County Health Department Worker Hospitalized After Ridgewood Crash
A Passaic County Health Department employee was hospitalized after the SUV that she was driving was T-boned in Ridgewood. The worker had just visited a patient at the Valley Hospital in Ridgewood when the crash occurred Sunday night, her brother said. The Chevy Blazer was headed eastbound on Linwood Avenue when it was rammed by a Jeep Wrangler headed south on Walthery Avenue shortly before 8:30 p.m. Oct. 8. Firefighters made quick work of a smoky rooftop blaze at the Macy's in the Paramus Park mall on Sunday. A large transformer in a rooftop parapet caught fire shortly after 12:30 p.m., Oct. 1. There was initial concern when the fire went to three alarms. In the end, the rooftop damage was minor, responders said. Water Main Break Opens Gaping Hole Off Route 208
A water main break Friday afternoon closed the entrance and exit ramps at a Route 208 interchange in Fair Lawn. The ramps along northbound Route 208 at Berdan Avenue off Plaza Road were affected after the road buckled under the water pressure, leaving a gaping hole, shortly after lunchtime Sept. 8. A pregnant woman being driven to the hospital gave birth after a brand-new SUV was involved in a collision just off Route 17. A 66-year-old man was struck and killed by a commuter train Thursday night in Fair Lawn. The man was struck by an NJ Transit train just off Fair Lawn Avenue across from the Radburn station platform shortly before 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 31. Multi-Vehicle Ridgewood Crash Sends Driver To Hospital
A missing stop sign may have contributed to a multi-vehicle crash Saturday morning in Ridgewood. One of the drivers was taken by ambulance to the Valley Hospital nearby with injuries that weren't considered life-threatening.
