Patrick Edward McGovern, the University of Pennsylvania professor celebrated worldwide as the “Indiana Jones of Ancient Alcohol,” died suddenly the week of Aug. 17, 2025, leaving colleagues and friends in shock.
McGovern, 78, was the scientific director of the Biomolecular Archaeology Laboratory for Cuisine, Fermented Beverages, and Health at the Penn Museum in Philadelphia, where he also served as an adjunct professor of anthropology.

Public House 46 in Clifton will be closing for good after service on Sunday, April 6, owner Robby Corujo confirmed to Daily Voice.
The longtime Route 46 hotspot, located at 1081 US-46, has been a go-to for locals looking to catch a game, hear live music, or enjoy a classic burger and beer. But Corujo says it’s time for a new chapter.

Tommy's Tavern + Tap announced on Instagram that its Edgewater location will open at City Place on Wednesday, June 26.
The expansive Tommy's menu includes pizza, burgers, salads, small plates, sushi, beer, cocktails, wine, happy hour specials, and more.
Tommy's has locations in Sea Bright, Freehold, Clifton, Bridgewater, Edison, Princeton, Morris Plains, Mount Laurel, Cherry Hill, and now Edgewater.

Tommy's Tavern + Tap has announced opening dates for its new Clifton and Princeton locations.
The Princeton location will open Nov. 18, and the Clifton location will open Dec. 14.
Tommy's has three other locations in Sea Bright, Freehold and Staten Island.
Menu items include wings, burgers, soups, sandwiches, pizza, flatbread, sushi, specialty cocktails, beer and wine.
