A rising star in the culinary world was killed in a freak accident while hiking at a remote location in Hawaii.

Tree Falls On School Bus, 11 Taken To Hospital: Authorities
Eleven people, 10 kids and a driver were taken to a hospital after a tree fell on a school bus in Tewksbury on Friday, March 21, authorities said.
At 7:08 a.m., officers responded to Fairmont Road East and Addison Drive after a large tree fell on the front of the school bus, police said.
All 11 individuals on the bus were transported to Hunterdon Medical Center for evaluation, police said. Any injuries were minor, police said.
Upon arrival at the hospital, school personnel were present to meet with parents and assist in the reunification process, police said.

A Brooklyn man died after crashing his dirt bike at a popular site at the Jersey Shore where police say trespassing is illegal.
Joseph W. Maffia, 28, was riding a blue 2024 Yamaha YZ450F when he hit the crest of a hill and dropped ten feet into a sand embankment at ASARCO, or Heritage Minerals, in Manchester Township, ejecting him from the bike, just before noon on Saturday, March 15, police said.

Mechanic, 21, Burned In Explosion At Route 22 Infiniti Service Center: Police
A 21-year-old mechanic was burned when a can of brake cleaner exploded inside a Bridgewater car dealership, police said.
Bridgewater Township officers responded to Ray Catena Infiniti at 1350 US-22 on Wednesday, Feb. 19, just before noon for a report of an injured employee, authorities said.
The employee had been working at the Infiniti Service Center when he attempted to pick up a can of brake cleaner near a receptacle filled with dirty, hot engine oil, police said. The can exploded, spraying the mechanic with hot engine oil and sparking a small fire, officials said.
