At approximately 8:02 p.m., officers from the Hackensack Police Department arrived at the Summit Manor Apartment complex, according to Angermeyer. Officers located a 22-year-old male with a gunshot wound to his face, according to Chief of Detectives Jeff Angermeyer.
The victim was immediately taken to HMH Hackensack University Medical Center, according to Angermeyer. He is currently hospitalized, undergoing treatment, and is expected to survive, Angermeyer said.
Immediately following the incident, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit was notified. Detectives responded to the scene and initiated a joint investigation with the Hackensack Police Department, Angermeyer said. The Bergen County Sheriff’s Office also responded to assist with the investigation, according to Angermeyer.
The ongoing investigation is being conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Hackensack Police Department, Angermeyer said.
