Christie Just Changed The Game For Smokers In New Jersey

New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie this week signed a law that leaves it up to the municipality to establish civil penalty for smoking in public places.

It's still illegal — but A-2368 means you might not get jail time for it.

The law takes effect immediately and without it, violators will be charged with a criminal offense that comes with a fine of up to $200, 30 days in jail or both.
