Officers were conducted a “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” detail just after 9 o’clock last night when they stopped a car in the Airport Motel parking lot off Route 46 after its driver failed to maintain his lane, Capt. Robert Kaiser told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

Jose Ramon Maldonado of Garret Street was carrying six $20 bag of cocaine along with 28 Xanax pills “for distribution purposes,” the captain said.

Maldonado, who has a previous drug arrest history, was being held on $50,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail this morning, charged with possession with the intent to distribute both, records show.

Officers also seized $500 in alleged drug proceeds, Kaiser said.
