The patrol officer was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center with a cervical sprain — “nothing broken, no cuts” — and was released after being treated, police told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

The female civilian was taken to the hospital after complaining of chest pains.

The cruiser was spun around and nearly facing back the other way after the crash, which left its rear end demolished so badly that the officer’s shotgun couldn’t immediately be retrieved from the trunk.

The front end of the other car was waffled.

The Bergen County Police Department was investigating.
