The indictment returned in Hackensack yesterday alleges that Michael C. Brady of Teaneck “purposely or knowingly caused the death, or serious bodily injury resulting in” the cold-blooded deaths of 40-year-old Tammy Pitts-Gaddy and young Natasia, whom prosecutors say he asphyxiated with a plastic bag, on Jan. 28, 2013.
The indictment also charges Brady with child abuse and weapons possession — the knife used to Pitts-Gaddy — as well as concealing the knife, destroying evidence and lying to police.

Family members confronted Brady after not being able to reach Pitts-Gaddy — and he, in turn, went with them to her Englewood apartment, Bergen County Prosecutor John L. Molinelli said following his arrest.
When he got there, Brady “acted as if he discovered the bodies when he entered through the window,” the prosecutor said.
The 6-foot-1-inch, 210-pound Brady — a citizen of Jamaica who has been in the U.S. since he was 10 — Brady worked for Pritchard Industries and was assigned as a custodian to the Leonia Middle School.
He’d been dating Pitts-Gaddy for three years, living on and off with her and her daughter when he wasn’t staying with his parents in Teaneck, Molinelli said.
Brady stabbed Pitts-Gaddy in her home the morning of Jan. 28, 2013, he said.
“It is believed the child witnessed the altercation and stabbing, and that Brady smothered her to death by holding a plastic bag over her head,” the prosecutor said. “He then fled the residence.”
Brady remain held on $2 million bail in the Bergen County Jail.
