Jose M. Sanchez — also known as Jose M. Sanchez-Hernandez — cashed seven checks of more than $500 each at the various branches over a 10-period from late February to early March, an indictment returned in Hackensack alleges.

The indictment says Sanchez signed the names of the company owners, Sal Lioni of Sal Lion Provisions and Anthony Scicchitano of S. Mandros Imported Food, both of whom are well-established in the gourmet Italian food industry.

Sanchez posted $35,000 bail and was released from the Bergen County Jail less than a day after Lyndhurst police arrested him.

He is charged with several counts of theft, forgery and receiving stolen property.
