The victim was expected to recover from her injuries after being struck by the 2014 Nissan Altima just before 9 a.m. at the corner of Beech Street and Prospect Avenue, Lt. Scott Sybel told Daily Voice. She was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center, he said.

Thomas Diviner, 32, of Hackensack was given a court date on charges of driving with a suspended license and no insurance, failing to yield to a pedestrian and being involved in a motor vehicle accident that resulted in serious bodily injury, Sybel said.

A witness and driver blamed sun glare, he said.
