As CLIFFVIEW PILOT revealed last month, Michelle Weckstrom, 42, was indicted by a grand jury in Hackensack.

A former 3rd-grade teacher in the Little Ferry school system, she was released after being arrested and processed following the indictment.

Her husband, Karl Weckstrom, has remained free on $100,000 bail, posted four days after his arrest last Oct. 25.

Last month’s indictment charges that Michelle Weckstrom “hindered apprehension or prosecution” by directing the alleged victim “not to tell anyone” of the crime “and / or taking no further action and / or alerting” her husband.

The indictment also charges Karl Weckstrom, 44, with fondling and digitally penetrating the girl sometime between Jan. 1, 2010 and August 21, 2011, before she turned 10. He’s also charged with impairing the morals of a minor.

Detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Special Victims Unit and borough police arrested the 6-foot-4-inch, 280-pound Weckstrom, an IT worker, after the state Division of Child Protection and Permanency alerted local authorities.

Possible pleas have not yet been discussed, a defense attorney said this afternoon.

The Weckstroms are due back in court June 9.
