Building evacuated after transformers leak in Hackensack tractor-trailer crash

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: A tractor-trailer making a warehouse delivery in Hackensack struck a utility pole, bursting two electrical transformers that leaked hazardous fluid onto the roadway and an adjacent parking lot.

Fifteen occupants at Eastern Datacomm on Commerce Way were evacuated by orders of the Hackensack Fire Department battalion chief as a precautionary measure following the noon mishap.

Workers from PSE&G were called to repair the damage.

A Bergen County Hazardous Materials unit also responded, along with Hackensack police.

No injuries were reported.
