The noontime blast blew out windows, brought emergency personnel from various agencies and put Hackensack University Medical Center’s AirMed One on standby. Although authorities feared the worst, everyone in the building at the time was quickly accounted for and a squadron of ambulances arrived quickly to assess the injuries.
All seven of those injured were brought to Nyack Hospital.
The most seriously injured was a female student from Valley Stream, N.Y., who emergency workers said jumped from a second-floor window. She was transferred from Nyack to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla this afternoon for treatment of a serious leg injury, authorities said.

Windows and doors were blown out up to 30 feet from the building, littering the surrounding area littered with glass, wood and debris.
The explosion occured at the north end of campus in a building that houses the college’s Sky Island Lodge and the Academic Success Center, according to the school’s website.
Nyack College is a private, evangelical, liberal arts school affiliated with the Christian and Missionary Alliance.
“Everyone is doing ok, thank you for your concerns and please continue to pray,” the school tweeted just before 1 p.m.
