HackensackUMC Surgeon Struck By Vehicle Dies At Same Hospital

A surgeon in the Hackensack University Medical Center system was killed in a pedestrian crash Tuesday, and died at HUMC Mountainside Hospital where she works, NorthJersey.com reports.

Dr. Jan Huston-Pryor, 66, was struck in the 200 block of Devon Road around 9:25 a.m., according to a statement from Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray and Essex Fells Police Chief William Theilacker.

She was transported to HackensackUMC, where she was pronounced dead at 9:45 a.m.

Huston was the director of the breast health program at Mountainside Medical Center and the founder and director of Summit Breast Care.
