'Comets For Kaia' Raises Thousands For Pediatric Cancer

HACKENSACK, N.J. — A Hackensack Girl Scout troop has raised $1,550 for a pediatric HUMC patient battling cancer.

“Her strength is my strength,” Kaia’s father, Demetrius, says in explaining how his 7-year-old daughter’s courage.

The Fairmount  School Girl Scouts sold "Comets for Kaia" T-shirts to help the 8-year-old leukemia patient, who has endured several chemotherapy treatments.

The troop partnered with Eli Manning's "Tackle Kids Cancer" challenge.
