Report: Fentanyl Poses Threat To Bergen's Police Dogs

BERGEN COUNTY, N.J.— Amidst the worst opioid epidemic in Bergen County history, fentanyl — among the most dangerous drugs in the world — is posing a dangerous threat to Bergen County's K-9 officers, NorthJersey.com reports.

Northvale pharmacist Suzanne Rabi Soliman told Daily Voice that the synthetic opioid can kill someone accidentally and can take minutes to set in if injected intravenously.

If a police dog encounters it, absorbing it through its mouth or nose, the animal could die, NorthJersey.com says.
