Drew Zervas will soon launch Guilty Pleasures Food Truck at the corner of 5th Avenue and 59th Street.
The longtime cook remembers when his father was the one and only person working the pushcarts in Central Park. Zervas joined his dad at 9 years old and by 11 had graduated to a full hot dog cart.
In 1977, the elder Zervas lost his crown as "Hot Dog King." when a five-year contract giving him the right to 60 pushcart locations was canceled.
The younger Zervas, however, recently met a 75-year-old veteran who will be renting him a truck and food license.
Menu items include Mac & Cheese topped with bacon and Cheeze-Its, Sweet and Spicy Franks and Beans with bacon and a buttery corn muffin, grilled cheese, fish tacos and more.
"This is my one and only chance to own my own business," said Zervas, 48. "And this opportunity is the golden ticket."
