South Jersey Man Admits Fatally Beating Puppy: Prosecutor A 39-year-old Atlantic City man has admitted beating a puppy to death, authorities said. On Friday, July 15, Gary Moore entered a guilty plea to animal cruelty in the death of a 7-pound Yorkshire Terrier puppy named Mommas.  Authorities with the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office say Moore stuffed the puppy's body between a mattress and box spring. Moore is scheduled to be sentenced on Aug. 26.
