A Cape May County man accused of having more than 1,600 items of child pornography was found by police under the Wildwood Boardwalk, authorities said.
Keith Aubrey, 42, of Wildwood, was arrested on a warrant on Thursday, Apr. 18, the Wildwood Crest Police Department said in a news release. He was charged with second-degree endangering the welfare of a child.
Jail records said Aubrey was charged for possession of child pornography on Friday, Nov. 11, 2022. During that arrest, investigators found him with an SD card, and a warrant was obtained to search it.

Jonathan Duerr, 30, of Wildwood, was arrested on Sunday, Apr. 14, the Wildwood Police Department said in a news release on Tuesday, Apr. 16. His arrest came while officers were investigating a burglary at a home on the 200 block of East Cresse Avenue at around 9:45 p.m.

A Cape May County man was accused of selling heroin mixed with fentanyl, authorities said.
Christian Ramos, 29, of Wildwood, was arrested on Friday, Mar. 15, Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey Sutherland announced in a news release. Agents from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and Homeland Security Investigations helped police search Ramos, his vehicle, and several locations throughout Wildwood and Middle Township.

A Salem County grand jury has indicted a Pittsgrove man for allegedly sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl, authorities said.
Emeterio Alavez-Cruz, 33, is accused of attacking the girl in June 2021, according to prior news accounts.
New Jersey State Police issued a call for public assistance in locating Alavez-Cruz, who was known to have connections to Rio Grande, Wildwood, Bridgeton, Penns Grove and New Castle, Delaware.
Alavez-Cruz is described as a Hispanic, about 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighing 150 pounds.

A Cape May County man was arrested after barricading himself in a house with his family and threatening police in an hours-long standoff, authorities said.
Rakesh Patel, 47, of Wildwood, was charged with three counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child, third-degree terroristic threats, third-degree resisting arrest, third-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, fourth-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, and fourth-degree obstruction of justice. A Pennsylvania man will spend at least two decades in prison for killing two people during an illegal car rally in Wildwood, authorities said.
Gerald White, 38, of Pittsburgh, was sentenced on Thursday, Feb. 8 to 25 years in prison, for killing two people at the violent H2oi car rally in 2022, Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey Sutherland announced.
White has a long history of traffic violations in New Jersey, dating back to 2005. After other repeated offenses, he was charged with having a suspended driver's license during traffic stops in 2011, 2013, and 2020.

Two men were arrested after invading someone's home in Wildwood then crashing a van in floodwaters while trying to get away from police, authorities said.
Robert McMichael, 38, of Wildwood, and Scott Hudson, 31, of West Wildwood, were later arrested in connection with the incident that began on the 200 block of East Bennett Avenue around 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 28, Wildwood police said.
McMichael and Hudson assaulted the homeowner before stealing items from the house, police said.

A 30-year-old was arrested for stabbing another man in Wildwood, authorities said.
Juan Vidal-Salinas of Wildwood was charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, obstruction and weapons offenses in the attack, Wildwood police said.
Police responded at 1:48 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 3 to a home on the 100 block of East Andrews Avenue.
Vidal-Salinas was found with a folding knife covered in blood, police said.
The 25-year-old victim had multiple wounds to his face, neck, head, and abdomen, police said. He was in stable condition at Atlantic City Medical Center.

A day after a fire at a Wildwood electrical plant, nearly 8,000 Wildwood residents still had no power on Saturday, July 8.
According to Atlantic City Electric, power had been restored to approximately16,200 customers, with a restoration time of 3 p.m. estimated for those still without as a result of the Lake Avenue substation fire on Friday, July 7.
