On Monday, Sept. 12, at 9:44 p.m., Cherry Hill police responded to Route 70 and East Gate Drive for an injured person lying in the roadway.  Police found a man deceased from injuries sustained from being struck by a motor vehicle. His name has not been released. The victim was run over by a dark-colored sport utility or pickup which fled the scene on Route 70 eastbound prior to police arrival, they said. He was struck by Rita N. Sinon, 59, of Bellmawr who was driving a 1997 Mercury Cougar northbound on the Black Horse Pike (Route 42) near Watson Drive, Washington Township police said. The crash occurred at 9:07 p.m. Tuesday, March 1. The pedestrian suffered a severe head injury and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Man Hospitalized After Trenton Shooting An unidentified man was shot in Trenton, authorities said. A report of shots fired came in about 10 p.m. on Tuesday on the first block of North Hermitage Avenue, reports said. EMS crews took a man to Capital Health Regional Medical Center with gunshot wounds. The name of the victim and his condition were not immediately released.
