UPDATE: A North Jersey cardiologist who avoided two separate attempts to convict him of fondling and groping female patients had his medical license permanently revoked by the state, authorities announced on Friday. Authorities arrested a tow truck driver from Philadelphia who they said kept on going after hitting and seriously injuring a 67-year-old pedestrian crossing Route 46 six weeks ago. Naser Abu Ali, 20, was driving a 2014 Ford transit van that hit Elizabeth Crum as she crossed at the light on Route 46 (Winant Avenue) in Ridgefield Park on Sept. 24, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said. A Glen Rock High School student, five school staffers, a police officer and two EMTs were all hospitalized following exposure to a rat poison that the youngster brought in on Monday, authorities said. A 4-year-old child drowned at a home in Woodcliff Lake on Friday, authorities confirmed. A 911 call brought officers to the home on Heidi Lane, a small cul-de-sac off Werimus Road next to the northbound Garden State Parkway shortly after 5 p.m. July 21, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said. : NJ Boy, 17, Drowns In Backyard Pool
A 17-year-old Bergen County boy drowned in a backyard pool as the 2023 Fourth of July holiday period was about to begin, authorities confirmed. The boy's father conducted CPR after finding the lifeless teen behind their Hillsdale home shortly before 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 28. A rig from the Township of Washington Volunteer Ambulance Corps was requested and the boy was transported to The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, responders said. A victim was in traumatic arrest after being ejected in a rollover evening rush-hour crash at the northern end of the Garden State Parkway, responders said. A 20-year-old man who was attacked by bees in Ridgewood was revived before being taken to the hospital, authorities said. The victim was unconscious but breathing, Police Chief Jacqueline Lutchke said after he was stung multiple times in the area of the Stop & Shop shopping center on Franklin Avenue shortly after 10:40 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21. Police in Fair Lawn rescued an 86-year-old woman who'd become trapped in a rabbit cage over the weekend. Officers found the victim after responding to an alert for a lift assist at a River Road senior citizens apartment shortly before 2 p.m., Sgt. Brian Metzler said.
