BettiJo Leslie (Burns) Williams, of Pedricktown, died peacefully on Monday, April 22, surrounded by her family, after a long battle with cancer, according to an obituary published by Adams Funeral Home. She was 41 years old. BettiJo, a native of Bridgeton, grew up in Millville and was a 2001 graduate of Millville High School. In 2012, she moved to Pedricktown and, over the years, she worked for the Pennsville National Bank, starting out as a teller in Pennsville and working her way up to branch manager in Woodstown, her obituary said. : 2 Men Found Dead In South Jersey
A pair of men are dead after an apparent murder-suicide in Salem County, authorities said. Juniel Feliciano-Lopez, 24, of Pennsville, died of multiple gunshot wounds and was found in a vehicle, according to Salem County Prosecutor Kristin Telsey. The suspected gunman, Henry Junior Kivelier Montero, 23, of Philadelphia, died at the scene of a single self-inflicted gunshot wound, the prosecutor said. A drug kingpin who headed a network that slung fentanyl and meth in South Jersey and the suburbs of Philadelphia while he hid from his pursuers was sentenced Thursday to a plea-bargained 18 years in federal prison. A parking lot attendant from South Jersey was charged with sexually assaulting a woman at a South Hackensack motel. Austin Walker, 22, of Pennsville, was taken into custody last week, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said on Monday, Oct. 9. UPDATE: A man from Philadelphia and another from South Jersey admitted their roles in a major drug trafficking ring that dealt meth and fentanyl, federal authorities said. Kevin Salmon, 25, had 5½ pounds of meth and two guns in his home when it was raided by authorities, U.S. Attorney for New Jersey Philip R. Sellinger said. Salmon had served as a courier for a major drug-trafficking network that "distributed large quantities of methamphetamine and fentanyl," the U.S. attorney said. A 30-year-old man from South Jersey has been charged with drunk driving in connection with a December crash that killed a beloved mom of four, NJ Advance Media reported. Stephen M. Karwowski, of Elmer was driving a pickup in Pennsville on Dec. 4, 2021, when he struck a car driven by Genita Townsend, 52, the outlet said. A group of juveniles from Wilmington, DE have carried out multiple robberies across Salem County, authorities warn. Heightened criminal activity has been reported within the Carneys Point, Penns Grove, Deepwater, and Pennsville areas, police said on Facebook. 3-Alarm Fire Ravages Gloucester County Industrial Plant
Fire crews spent hours battling a three-alarm blaze at a Gloucester County industrial plant Monday night. Firefighters were called to the 400 Eagle Ct. building in Pureland Industrial Park around 7:30 p.m, Harrison Township fire officials said on Facebook. Firefighters opened the roof and, with help from Woolwich, Pennsville, and Reliance fire companies, cut four holes to help knock down the blaze.
