Life Without NJ DPW Worker Struck By Lightning Is 'Unimaginable'
There's been an outpouring of support for a Woodbridge Department of Public Works employee struck by lightning this week. Eric Baumgartner survived the strike after a Woodbridge police officer performed life-saving CPR. Baumgartner was painting lines for the soccer field at Iselin Middle School on Wednesday, June 14, and didn't hear anything over the loud noise of the machine he was using when the lightning strike came down, a GoFundMe page says. DPW Worker Survives Lightning Strike In Central Jersey
A 39-year-old worker for the Woodbridge Department of Public Works survived a lightning strike, authorities said. He was working on a soccer field at Iselin Middle School during the Wednesday, June 14 strike. Police Officer R.J. McPartland, a certified EMT, was at a nearby school when the emergency was called in. McPartland arrived within minutes and restored the man’s pulse, township officials said. The DPW worker was taken to Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center where he was listed in stable condition, they said.

Third Victim Killed In White House Lightning Strike Was LA Bank Employee, 29, On Business Trip
A 29-year-old Los Angeles bank employee in Washington DC for business has been identified as the third person to die after being struck by lightning this week near the White House, his employer announced. Brooks A. Lambertson, along with James Mueller, 76, and Donna Mueller, 75, of Janesville, Wisconsin, also died after the three were struck Thursday, Aug. 4 directly outside of the White House complex, DC police said Friday. Monday afternoon was just another work day for South Seaside Park guard Keith Pinto, who sat in the lifeguard chair under clear skies surrounded by his colleagues and beach goers. Army Vet Struck Dead By Lighting While Playing Golf In Pennsylvania
Severe weather has claimed the life of a Pennsylvania man, who was struck by lightning during a round of golf. Joseph Slivinski, 71, of Lackawanna County, was struck by lightning while playing golf on Friday at Pine Hills Golf Course, according to the county coroner.
