Indoor Sports Complex Approved As Latest Addition To Cape May Airport
A large indoor sports complex is coming to Cape May County, featuring year-round space for sports like soccer and lacrosse. The commission for the Delaware River and Bay Authority (DRBA) unanimously approved a resolution to enter a lease agreement with Aviation Sports Complex LLC. The DRBA announced the agreement on Tuesday, Jan. 30. The developer is planning to build an 80,000-square-foot domed facility at Cape May Airport. The athletic community at Stevens Institute of Technology was mourning the loss of former record-setting athlete Brett Incollingo. The Yardley, PA native died on Oct. 6 at 28 years old. Brett holds the record for career face-off wins with Stevens' men's lacrosse in its 137-year history, having finished his career with 584 wins in the "X." A Second Team All-Empire 8 Conference selection in 2016, Incollingo also holds four of the top-15 single-season performances in the faceoff circle in program history. A boys high school lacrosse player was flown to a local hospital with a head injury during a game Saturday, April 23, NJ Advance Media reports. The North Hunterdon High School varsity player was struck in the head during a home game against Ridge High School around 10 a.m., the outlet said. Driver ID'd In Fatal Single-Car Crash In Gloucester County
Authorities identified the driver killed during a single-car crash earlier this week. New Jersey State Police confirmed that the driver of a Honda Fit sustained fatal injuries in Gloucester County. The crash occurred at 12:32 p.m. Tuesday on Interstate-295 southbound in Logan Township, according to Sgt. Lawrence Peele, a state police spokesman. The driver was later identified as Gabriel D. Millburn High School Athlete Robbie Almgren III Dies, 17
Millburn High School senior athlete and lifelong Short Hills resident Robert "Robbie" Almgren III died on Dec. 27. The 17-year-old succumbed to the sudden effect of AML Leukemia, which began Christmas night, his obituary says. Robbie grew up playing lacrosse, football and basketball. A senior at Millburn High School, Robbie played for the Millers and the NJ Riot Club team, and was also a trumpet player. Robbie planned on playing lacrosse for the Union College Dutchmen next year.
