Update: North Jersey Teen Killed By Commuter Train UPDATE: The victim of a fatal commuter train strike in Fair Lawn on Thursday was a township teenager, sources with direct knowledge of the incident said. The 16-year-old boy, who was in the 11th grade, was pronounced dead at the scene, they said. Local Man Struck By Train In North Jersey A 60-year-old Lyndhurst man suffered severe injuries when he was hit by a train Friday night. The westbound NJ TRANSIT Main Line train struck the man just before the Kingsland Station shortly before 5:30 p.m. Aug. 4 in what responders said wasn't an accident. Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Train At Jersey Shore A male was fatally struck by a train over the weekend at the Jersey Shore, NJ Transit officials confirmed. The victim, whose identity was not immediately released, was struck by a North Jersey Coast Line train just before stopping in Spring Lake around 3 a.m. Sunday, June 4, NJ Transit spokesman Kyalo Mulumba said. None of the eight people on board train No. 4795 were injured. The train had departed Long Branch at 2:42 a.m. and was scheduled to arrive in Bay Head at 3:22 a.m.
