6 People Hurt When NJ Transit Bus Is Rear-Ended Six people including the driver were injured when a New Jersey Transit bus was rear-ended by another vehicle, authorities said. The crash occurred at about 9 a.m. Monday, Oct. 17 on bus route 508 at Atlantic and Chelsea avenues in Atlantic City, according to Jim Smith, a NJ Transit spokesman. The bus was stopped when it was struck from behind, Smith said. Twelve people were on board. Five riders plus the driver claimed minor injuries and were taken to the hospital, Smith said.

Woman Struck, Killed By Train In Middlesex County A woman was struck and killed by an NJ Transit train in Middlesex County Tuesday night, officials confirmed. Northeast Corridor train 3959 struck the woman west of the Metuchen station at approximately 6:50 p.m., NJ Transit spokesman Jim Smith said. The woman's identity was being withheld pending family notification. No injuries reported to the approximately 100 passengers and crew members, Smith said.
