Hamilton Motorcyclist Killed In Route 1 Crash In Central Jersey A motorcyclist from Hamilton was killed in a Route 1 crash in Edison, authorities said. The name or age of the motorcycle rider had not been released by police. The crash occurred at about 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 20, on Route 1 northbound, Edison police said. The motorcyclist was traveling at a high rate of speed and ultimately got trapped under a vehicle stopped in traffic, according to Edison Police Chief Thomas Bryan. "The cyclist dismounted from the motorcycle just prior to striking the vehicle and came to rest underneath the vehicle with the motorcycle striking him," Bryan said…

Firefighters Battle Warehouse Fire In Mercer County Firefighters were battling a warehouse fire in Hamilton, authorities said. No one was injured in the fire that broke out at about 12:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 18. Video from CBS News Philadelphia showed smoke and flames billowing from the structure. Hamilton firefighters advised motorists to avoid White Head Road and Sweetbriar Avenue.  Roads shut down included Sloan Avenue and Klockner Road; White Head Road in the area of Route 1; White Head Road near Third Avenue; and Assunpink Boulevard. One lane of Route 1 north was open.

Worker Electrocuted, Killed By Live Wire In Mercer County: Police A worker was electrocuted and killed while working on fiber optic lines, authorities said. Dean Kitchin, 52, of Cherry Hill apparently touched a live power line during the work, they said. His lifeless body was found on top of a box truck, according to Hamilton police.  Hamilton police and firefighters were called to 11 Souith Gold Road for a report of a fire on Wednesday, March 1. There was no foul play, Hamilton police said. The Middlesex County Medical Examiner's Office was conducting an autopsy.
