Galloway Township police said they received a call from a potential theft victim at around 2:15 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 30. Atlantic County Man Sentenced For Handgun Possession A 22-year-old man from Absecon was sentenced to New Jersey State Prison for the unlawful possession of a handgun, authorities said. Quasir Smith was sentenced on Tuesday, May 9 to a five-year state prison term, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office. On Feb. 10, 2022, Galloway Township Police responded to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center – Mainland Campus, for a report of a handgun found on Smith by hospital personnel, the prosecutor said. Smith did not have a permit to carry the handgun.  He was subsequently placed under arrest.
