Ernest Peterson UPS Knife Attack
A 50-year-old man from Sicklerville is accused of attacking a UPS driver with a knife, authorities said. Monroe Township police said they caught Ernest Peterson on top of the driver after he crashed into a curb at about 12:15 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17. Peterson had asked the UPS driver for a ride to the front of the Madison Court Apartments, police said. The driver, a 52-year-old Franklinville man, was treated at an area hospital for minor cuts above his right eye and on his back, police said. A knife was recovered at the scene. Anthony Tartaglia, of Franklinville, died peacefully on Friday, March 15, with his family by his side, according to an obituary published by Farnelli Funeral Home. He was 48 years old. Originally from Philadelphia, Anthony grew up in South Philadelphia. After graduation, he joined the Navy and was stationed in San Diego, his obituary said. "Having married his high school sweetheart, he and his wife lived in San Diego, Glassboro, Woodbury, and Franklinville before settling there to raise their family," his obituary said. Authorities in Bucks County are looking for a New Jersey contractor accused of taking payment for projects he never completed. Bernard Kanuck of Franklinville, NJ is the owner of Alpha One Construction LLC, said Central Bucks Regional police in a release. Investigators say Kanuck was contacted by a Doylestown business owner about sidewalk repair. He started the job but stopped showing up, according to police. A New Jersey hospital must pay $3 million to the family of a woman who died from a flesh-eating bacteria nearly seven years ago. A Camden County Superior Court jury awarded the money to the family of 54-year-old Adrienne Nock — who visited Jefferson Washington Township Hospital visited twice with symptoms before she died in 2017, according to the law firm Saltz Mongeluzzi Bendesky. Addition centers in five locations have suffered a data breach that may compromise patients' private information, officials said. Maryville, a nonprofit addition agency, is offering credit monitoring services for those who may have had their Social Security numbers and other private details exposed as a result of the incident, according to spokesman Bill Crowe. A 94-year-old man died of his injuries after a two-vehicle crash in Gloucester County, authorities said. John Haynicz, of Monroeville, was driving a pickup that collided with an SUV at 2:27 p.m. Friday, Aug. 25 at Delsea Drive and Paul Street in Franklinville, according to Franklin Township police.
