Rowen University Archeologists Discover Revolutionary War Burial Site Rowan University historians think they have discovered in a mass grave in New Jersey the remains of 12 Hessian soldiers who fought during the American Revolutionary War. They believe the Hessian soldiers — German troops hired by the British — were part of about 377 troops killed by Colonial forces during the Battle of Red Bank. America's Rhode Island Regiment lost just 14 troops.
