A 32-year-old former teacher from North Bergen has been charged with sexually assaulting a student at Carteret Middle School, authorities said. Jeffrey Munguia was also charged on Wednesday, April 24 with endangering the welfare of a child, according to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Carterest Police Chief Dennis McFadden. The suspect in the killing of his grandmother allegedly struck her with a heavy object, authorities said. Cyril Lloyd, 26, of Carteret. was charged with murdering the 77-year-old woman, according to the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office. A five-pound weight and a statue, both with blood on them, were found at the crime scene, said Brynn Krause, a spokeswoman for the prosecutor. Authorities have released the name of the Middlesex County resident killed in a house fire on Tuesday. The fire broke out about 5 p.m. at 122 Lowell Street in Carteret. First responders found Mark Levinzon, 75, of Carteret inside the residence. Levinzon was unresponsive and taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.
