South Jersey Police Catch Facebook Marketplace Robber, Authorities Say
In a police sting, a robber who allegedly stole a laptop via a Facebook Marketplace meet-up was arrested in Burlington County, authorities said.
Trayvon Turner, 20, of the Bronx, NY, is accused of meeting a seller and then forcefully stealing a laptop, Evesham police said. He's been charged with robbery and theft in the incident at a Walmart parking lot in Evesham Township.
Undercover Evesham detectives posed as buyers online and were able to arrest Turner when he tried to resell the stolen laptop, police said on Monday, March 11.

The owner of a Bronx daycare center where a 1-year-old boy died from fentanyl exposure was seized by federal authorities on Tuesday along with her husband’s cousin.
Grei Mendez De Ventura, 36, the owner of Divino Niño Daycare, and her alleged accomplice, Carlisto Acevedo Brito, 41, were charged by the federal government on Sept. 19 with possession with the intent and conspiracy to distribute drugs resulting in death.
Meanwhile, a manhunt continued for De Ventura’s fugitive husband, who was identified as the leader of the drug operation.

A dealer from the Bronx who rammed a DEA vehicle in a failed attempt to flee a fentanyl bust n New Jersey followed his accomplice's lead and took a deal from the government rather than face trial.
Miguel Nuñez, 50, pleaded guilty to fentanyl possession and resisting arrest with a deadly weapon during a hearing in U.S. District Court in Newark on Tuesday, Sept. 11, federal authorities said.

Two suspects were arrested in Atlantic City in connection with an armed robbery, authorities said.
On Friday, Sept. 8, at 3:45 a.m., Atlantic City patrol officers responded to the area of Ohio and Pacific Avenues for a man reporting that he was robbed of his wallet by a man and a woman. Officers learned the victim, 38, of Bronx, NY, began a conversation with Mariah Gooden, police said. Gooden led the victim to Kkyree Dunkerson. Two business partners from Bergen and Morris counties operated a clinical lab that defrauded government health insurance programs out of an estimated $3.5 million for COVID testing, federal authorities charged.
Tariq Din, 55, of Saddle River, and Abid Syed, 45, of East Hanover, paid kickbacks to "marketers" for referrals to their Metpath Laboratories in Parsippany, U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger said.
Two of the accused marketers, Muhammed Aurangzeb, 45, of Robbinsville, and David Weathers, 59, of the Bronx, received $5 to $30 per referral from Metpath, the U.S. attorney said.

UPDATE: A member of a New Jersey-based armed robbery crew copped to holding up five liquor and convenience stores in two states, federal authorities said.
Jaime Fontanez, 45, of Elizabeth and two accomplices went on a six-month armed robbery spree beginning in August 2018, U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger said.

Bergen County actor and restaurant owner Frank Vallelonga Jr. was identified as the alleged overdose victim whose body was found dumped on a Bronx sidewalk earlier this week, authorities said.
